Arrowhead's Clarizio to Receive Superintendent of the Year Award

The Oregon Chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (OGCSA) has recognized Joseph Clarizio of Arrowhead Golf Club in Molalla, Ore. for its Superintendent of the year Award.  The award will be presented at the Oregon Superintendents Annual Meeting at Salashan Resort and Spa on May 4th.

The award is presented to a superintendent who has done exemplary work in their field, and Clarizio has continuously set a standard by providing the highest quality playing conditions for his membership while serving his local community and the industry.

Arrowhead Golf Course is family owned business where Clarizio has a variety of responsibilities. As its superintendent since 1993, he has made significant improvements including complete renovation of thirteen golf holes.    In addition to overseeing golf maintenance operations, Clarizio also owns the Farmstead Inn, a popular restaurant located at the golf course.

Clarizio has served on the OGCSA board of directors for six years and has made significant contributions including the Superintendent Invitational Golf Tournament, now a regular Pro-Am event held with the Oregon PGA.

In his spare time Clarizio has given back to his local community by organizing and renovating the local high school football field including irrigation and seeding. He also serves as a director for the Molalla Area Chamber of commerce.
