2018 6th Annual Sustainability Summit and Green Classic Golf Tournament

New for 2018, the Oregon Golf Course Superintendents Association is excited to announce that we have been invited to partner with Joint Base Lewis-McChord and the Western Washington Golf Course Superintendents Association for the 6th Annual Sustainability Summit and Green Golf Classic. Taking place July 23 & 24, this Summit focuses on sustainability related topics in the turfgrass industry coupled with the Green Golf Classic Golf Tournament on the 24th. For the Green Golf Tournament, players will be paired with one or two active duty service members.

10:00 – 10:50: Soils is action Part 2 – Real world applications for enhancing turf stress tolerance and optimizing fertilization, irrigation, and turf health – WSU & Panel discussion
11:00 – 11:50: Integrated Pest Management Plans – Development, application and implementation – Principles of bio-rational turf and habitat management – Presentation: Joint Base Lewis McChord & WSU
12:00 – 12:50: BREAK FOR LUNCH & NETWORKING TIME
1:00 – 1:50: Best practices for getting the most from your irrigation system – Energy and water conservation in action. Presentation: Tacoma Power Company & Panel dicussion
2:00 – 2:50: Key shills needed to make regulatory compliance inspections successful and less stressful. Presentation: JBLM Environmental Program & Panel Discussion
DAY 1 COST: (SUMMIT ONLY) – $10.00 per person (Lunch & coffee service provided with Summit)

10:30 AM – 4:30 PM: 18 Hole four man best ball team shotgun golf tournament – team pairings of civilians with two active duty service members per team
10:30 – 2:30 PM: Alternate Optional activity – Putting Tournament (no charge)
AWARDS CEREMONY FOLLOWING (I.E. NO HOST BAR AT SAMUAL ADAMS BREW PUB WITH BOX LUNCHES DURING TOURNAMENT)
COST: (GOLF ONLY) – $40.00 per person, active duty service members fee covered by DFMWR.
COST: (GOLF & SUMMIT) – $50.00 per person
