Job Listing Posted:

Position available 3/18/24

It is our goal to prepare Golf Course Maintenance Interns to advance in their chosen field. Interns will participate in all facets of our golf course maintenance program, including: fertilizer applications, irrigation practices, topdressing, and construction projects. Interns will have the opportunity to work on both of our championship golf courses and receive an introduction to our management plan, yearly budget, employee scheduling, and equipment maintenance. Management of small crews may also be presented in certain situations. If appropriate, there is also opportunity for exposure to our Landscape operation.

Interns will be provided with a challenging position that will allow them to use some of the skills and experience gained in the classroom and previous work experience. We will guide interns to achieve any professional goals or academic requirements they would like to fulfill during their employment. We will provide honest feedback and encourage the intern to ask questions throughout their experience. A final review will be given by the Director of Agronomy at the end of the intern’s employment.

On a daily basis interns will participate in all areas of preparing the golf courses for daily play. Raking bunkers, mowing of tees, fairways, rough and greens, rolling greens, and course set-up, are the basic practices that will kick off the internship. Interns will also gain experience in a variety of other maintenance practices which may include: trim work, edging, pesticide applications and topdressing. Next, interns will transition into our spray programs, and will participate in foliar fertilizer applications of fairways, tees and greens. Additionally, irrigation diagnosis and repair, as well as practices such as hand watering and syringing will be focused on during employment.
