Glendale Country Club is looking for an Assistant-in-Training to join our staff. GCC is located in Bellevue, WA, seven miles east of Seattle. We are seeking a motivated individual with a willingness to learn and advance in the golf course industry. The club was built in 1959 on 140 acres, 18 holes with driving range and practice areas. GCC has been host of the WA Open 13 times since 1975. Toro irrigation system installed in 1993 with many updates. Lynx control system and Flowtronix pump station. New irrigation system currently being designed by Brent Harvey and planned for installation in the next three years. AIT works closely with the assistant superintendent (20 years at Glendale) and our superintendent (35 years at Glendale) to perform all daily maintenance tasks. Most of our staff has been with us for 10+ years. Besides daily maintenance, candidate will learn all aspects of spraying and calibration, posting of articles on our turf blog, payroll, budgeting, crew management, irrigation system management and operation of all equipment. We have a well-maintained newer fleet of Toro equipment.

Work hours in season are 5am 1-pm. Paid lunch break. Off season work hours are 6am -2pm.

$1,000 bonus after being on staff for 90 days and up to $2,000 moving expenses.

Weekend work schedule during April – October will be every other other weekend. November -March, every third weekend.

Salary

Educational Requirements
Applicant must currently be enrolled in a turfgrass educational program or have a one, two or 4 year degree/certificate in turf management or closely related field.

Experience Requirements
2-3 seasons of golf course or landscape turf management experience required.

Special Requirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Current drivers license.

Ability to obtain a WA Pesticide Applicators License within one year of employment.
