Position Job Description
1. Shall supervise the maintenance, operation and management of the golf course under the direction of the General Manager and in cooperation with the Green Committee Chairperson as directed by the Board of Directors.
2. Be responsible for the supervision of mowing, watering and maintenance of greens, tees, fairways and roughs according to Yakima Country Club; Course Standards Manual
3. Supervises the care and maintenance of trees and plants, planter beds and all paved areas around the clubhouse, pro shop and parking lot.
4. Supervises the operation of the equipment repair shop, orders supplies and materials within budgetary limitations, keeps records of annual maintenance activities of the golf course and maintains records of golf course equipment.
5. Makes recommendations for capital equipment purchases and assists in making labor and general maintenance, cost estimates in the preparation of the annual green operation budget.
6. Supervises, directs, and trains all personnel employed on the golf course and grounds maintenance crews and will be responsible for the hiring and discharge of these persons with the General Manager’s approval. Conducts a formal evaluation of each individual in September.
7. Will coordinate the final determination of the purchase of specific equipment and supplies best suited for Yakima Country Club, within limits of an annual operating budget and approved capital budget by the Board of Directors.
8. Coordinates through the General Manager and the appointed Chairperson of the Green Committee all major additional work assignments, construction changes and/or proposals.
9. Reviews with the General Manager, Head Golf Professional, Greens Committee Chairperson all special requirements needed in preparation for special golfing events and tournaments.
10. Work closely with the Head Golf Professional regarding maintenance of the range, making sure, at regular intervals, that these areas are free of practice balls for mowing and other maintenance items.
11. Is aware of and in compliance with all general, state and local regulations governing the maintenance of the golf course and grounds.
12. Has the authority to determine times when the temporary greens are to be played or to close the golf course if he/she determines that weather factors would damage the course if played. Works closely with the Pro Shop to keep them advised of any changes in playing conditions and/or closures.
13. Attends or is represented at all staff or committee meetings as requested by the General Manager or committee chairman and will give freely feedback on club business and gives a weekly report on course projects.

Beginning Compensation and Benefits Package
Base salary: $110,000 – $120,000 per year (BOE)

Benefits Summary:
• After 60 days employee will become eligible for the company medical, dental and vision benefit package. Company pays 80% of the insurance premium, and individual pays 20% of insurance premium. Family members are eligible to add to the insurance program at 100% expense to the employee.
• Cell phone plan covered by employer up to $100 per month
• Individual and family use of the facility with prior authorization from the Director of Club Operations Meals while on duty at $5 per meal
• Eligible for the company Simple IRA Plan, 3% company matching contribution after 1 year.
• Full Time YCC management team members, PTO accrues according to the following schedule:
1. Beginning on the first day of employment through the 12th month of employment, PTO will accrue at a rate of 5.000 hours per pay period. Accrual will cap at 120 hours. Up to 120 hours of accrued, unused PTO will be carried over to the next anniversary year.
2. Beginning the 13th month of employment through the 120th month of employment, PTO
will accrue at a rate of 6.666 hours per pay period. Accrual will cap at 160 hours. Up to
160 hours of accrued, unused PTO will be carried over to the next anniversary year.
3. Beginning the 121st month of employment, PTO will accrue at a rate of 8.333 hours per
pay period. Accrual will cap at 200 hours. Up to 200 hours will be carried over to the
next anniversary year.

• Individual life insurance policy of $50,000 after 60 days.
• Permissive use of company vehicle, 2014 GMC 3500, contingent on validation of Superintendents’ driving record. Vehicle is owned and insured by Yakima Country Club, may be used off property for company business by the Superintendent for normal business duties. Normal maintenance and gas for the vehicle for business duties is the responsibility of Yakima County Club.
• Superintendent is responsible for any damages caused to company vehicle from negligence, recklessness, or unauthorized personal use.
• Reimbursement of preapproved expenses with prior authorization from the General Manager for Clothing and Uniform allowance within budget and with prior authorization from the General Manager.
• Educational and GCSAA Show Attendance within budget and with prior authorization from the General Manager.
• GCSAA National and Chapter Dues 100% paid by employer
• Within the first 90 days, an annual bonus structure mutually agreed upon between the Superintendent and General Manager will be negotiated.
