The Oregon Golf Course Superintendents Association Board of Directors is excited to announce creation and offer of and new scholarship o opportunity for a member to attend National Golf Day.

Thanks to the continued success of the Rounds 4 Research Auctions and a generous donation from Chuck Wolsborn, Owner/Operator of Gresham Golf Course, a $1,500 scholarship has been established to support one Class A or Class B Superintendent Member in attending National Golf Day in Washington, D.C.

National Golf Day provides golf industry professionals with a unique opportunity to advocate for issues critical to the future of the game, including business growth, environmental stewardship, and job creation. Attendees engage directly with legislators and administration officials, helping to build meaningful relationships and elevate the voice of the golf industry at the national level.

Criteria for Selection

Applicants must:

  • Be a Class A or B Superintendent Member of the OGCSA
  • Submit an original letter of interest (up to 500 words). Letters must be unique and not previously submitted to the OGCSA.
  • Demonstrate involvement in governmental advocacy efforts related to advancing the golf course management industry or other related efforts.
  • Upon return from National Golf Day submit article for OGCSA newsletter and present follow up report to membership at Annual Business Meeting at the end of May.
  • Note: Financial need is not a factor in the selection process.
