Job Listing Posted:

The University of Idaho Golf Course, located at the main campus in Moscow, is committed to providing the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Idaho and our surrounding communities with an exceptional and affordable golf experience. We strive to offer a welcoming environment that delivers quality and courteous service to our guests. The golf course serves as an important learning laboratory for university students and as a touchpoint to the community and region.

Under the direction of the golf course superintendent, the assistant greens superintendent supervises and participates in the management, maintenance, and improvement of the golf course.

The assistant greens superintendent is a full-time, fully-benefitted, hourly/overtime-eligible position.  Wage is $27.00 / hr or higher, depending on experience and education.  Other benefits include golfing privileges, vacation and sick leave, participation in group medical/dental/vision/retirement plans, IEGCSA and GCSAA dues paid, Idaho pesticide license and renewal credits paid, reduced rate tuition at the University of Idaho for employees and their family members, and potential Public Service Loan Forgiveness, in addition to other perks and discount programs.

The golf season typically extends from April through early November, weather-dependent.  During the season, maintenance focuses primarily on the upkeep of the playing surfaces, while off-season priorities shift to improvement projects and when necessary, snow removal.

The typical work week for this position is 40 hours.  Start times vary throughout the year, based upon daylight and business requirements.  The successful candidate will work approximately one weekend per month throughout the golf season (in rotation with other managers) and will be expected to work some overtime during aerification (twice per year), occasional projects, and a few golf tournaments each season.
