Golf Course Superintendent – Pine Ridge Golf Club
Location: Springfield, OR
Reports to: General Manager
Position Overview:
Pine Ridge Golf Club is seeking a hands-on, dedicated Working Golf Course Superintendent. You will be responsible for the entire maintenance operation of our 18-hole course, clubhouse grounds, and landscaping. This role requires a leader who is as comfortable in the shop or on a mower as they are developing a million-dollar capital budget.
Core Responsibilities:
• Agronomics & Maintenance: Oversee all turf culture, including greens, fairways, and tees. Manage irrigation systems, pesticide/fertilizer applications, and tree maintenance programs.
• Leadership & Team Growth: Recruit, train, and motivate a mix of full-time and seasonal staff. You will lead by example, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
• Strategic Planning: Assist ownership in long-range planning and program forecasting. You will be a key voice in recommending and implementing capital improvement projects.
• Administrative Oversight: Manage the annual maintenance budget, maintain meticulous chemical/pesticide records, and oversee bi-monthly payroll for your department.
Qualifications:
• Education: 2- or 4-year degree in Turf Management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
• Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of irrigation pumps, drainage, and turf diseases. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Certifications: * Valid Oregon driver’s license.
o Ability to obtain an Oregon Pesticide License within 6 months of hire.
o GCSAA membership (preferred or obtainable within 6 months).
Physical Requirements & Environment:
• Must be able to move items weighing 50–75 lbs frequently.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, or ice).
• Willingness to work in close proximity to moving mechanical parts and the general public.
Compensation & Benefits:
Annual Salary: $65,000-$75,000 based upon experience.
Health: Individual plan (90% employer-paid).
Dental: Employer-paid individual plan.
Paid Time Off: * Vacation: 5 days (Years 1–2), 10 days (Years 3–5), 15 days (6+ years).
Paid Holidays: 7 days annually.
Sick Leave: 5 days annually.
