Seeking volunteers for 2019 Portland Open Tournament

A very successful 2018 Winco Portland Open at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club was confirmed by being awarded the 2018 Tournament of the Year Award (see link below). The PGA Tour awards 25 PGA Tour Cards at this season finale event and we look forward to another successful event in 2019.  Our team prides itself on giving PGA Tour conditions to up and coming tour pros that play and have played Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club including Justin Thomas, Tony Finau and Xander Schauffele to name a few.

Many factors contribute to the success of this event foremost being the outstanding playing conditions provided by the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club’s maintenance team.  There are many components that go into providing these conditions during tournament week, and as the host club we prepare months in advance to host this event.  These golf course set up tasks during tournament are done not only by the maintenance team on staff, but also superintendents and assistant superintendents from around the country that come into help us with this tournament.

As we continue to elevate playing conditions and maintenance practices during this week, we are looking for assistant from local volunteers too. The 2019 Portland Open Tournament week runs from August 5-11th.  This is the middle of the season for all of us but will be a great experience staff to see what we do to provide tournament conditions here at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club.

Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club will provide tournament volunteers:

* Tournament Uniforms – Nike Shirts and Hat
* Morning and evening meals
* Daily passes for family
* Housing Allowance depending on number of shifts volunteered

Please reach out to Director of Agronomy Eric Feldhusen at 661-310-4229 ( or Executive Director Alexis Wenker 503-344-6535 ( for more information if you or your staff would be interested in volunteering.
